While Athabasca Falls in Alberta may not be the highest waterfall, you can easily tell it’s the most powerful by the volume of the water crashing into the gorge below. The slick rocks around the falls didn’t allow for me to stray too far off the designated paths, but I didn’t have to go too far to capture its full impact. Fine silt from the melting glaciers upstream gives alpine rivers their trademark vibrant blue colour.
