I’ve long been inspired by the beauty of Western Canada with its rocky peaks and icy valleys, and was inspired by the idea of capturing a moment hidden to most tourists. Many have experienced the wonder of the Columbia Icefields from the snow coaches at ground level, but it takes on a whole new perspective from an elevation of over 10,000 feet atop Mount Athabasca. After nearly 7 hours of trekking up the mountain, I was rewarded with this bird’s eye view of the sun cresting over neighboring Boundary Peak at the border of Jasper and Banff National Parks, highlighting the near untouched beauty of the snowy summit.
To maximize the depth of tone and colour, this fine art photo print on Mount Athabasca has been giclée printed using 12 pigment inks on 300gsm weight paper. As a gallery quality archival print, this piece is made to last, without risk of deterioration over time. This print is available pre-mounted for a modern look, or un-mounted for you to complete with traditional glass and frame.
